Whirlpool Corporation Expands Amana Manufacturing Operations

BENTON HARBOR, Mich.

Whirlpool Corporation today announced an expected investment of up to $11 million for the expansion of its Amana, Iowa-based refrigeration operations. This investment will support product innovation and increased manufacturing capacity for bottom freezer refrigeration and is expected to create up to 400 new jobs in Amana over the next 24 months. Whirlpool expects to employ approximately 2,900 people at the facility by the end of 2008.
