No matter which way you spin it, laundry is a fact of life. In fact, it has been said that 35 billion loads of wash are done in the U.S. each year. To help consumers get more done in less time -- and with less money and fewer resources -- Whirlpool brand has been busy enhancing the styling and features of America's best-selling front loader, the Duet. Backed with the advanced technology and sleek new look and feel that consumers demanded, Whirlpool brand today unveiled the new Duet HT washer and dryer at the International Builders' Show.

To save time, the large capacity and speed of the pair lets you wash 16 pairs of jeans in a single load while using half the water and energy.* The washer saves up to 70 percent more energy and uses 70 percent less water.**

"Whirlpool brand products are continually driven by consumer insight, and the new Duet HT system is an example of how the brand designs products to meet consumers' needs," said Pam Rogers, Director, Whirlpool Brand Laundry Products. "Consumers will still get the features that have made the Duet the best-selling front loader in America but will now save even more time and energy."

The new Duet HT laundry pair offers features such as a Clean Washer Cycle to keep the washer performing at its best; Dynamic Stability Control to minimize vibration before it even starts for first- and second-floor installation; a Direct Inject wash cycle that virtually eliminates the need to pre-treat; intuitive controls with LED lights that let you load and go; and a larger door opening for easier loading of bulky items. In addition, the Duet HT's sleek new design is evident in the "Water Drop" shaped door and attractive LED control panel which allows for quick and intuitive cycle selection.

From start to finish, doing laundry has never been easier with the new Duet HT system's standard features, such as 14 distinct wash cycles that include a Woolmark® certified wool cycle. With 6th Sense™ technology, the Duet HT washer can measure load size and determine the correct amount of water to assign the appropriate wash action for enhanced fabric care. Also, Whirlpool brand continues to take the guesswork out of laundry with the AccelerCare™ Drying System, whose moisture sensors and computerized technology measure exactly how fast the load is drying and when it is complete. Even after the dry cycle is finished, the Wrinkle Shield™ Plus option continues to tumble every five minutes for up to 140 minutes, preventing wrinkles from setting into clean, dry fabrics.

The new Duet HT pair will be available in March 2007 at national retailers with an MSRP starting at $1399 for the washer and $1049 for the dryer. Visit www.whirlpool.com to learn more.
