"People are leading very busy lives and are looking for solutions that will enable them to work smarter in the home," said Jill Dugan-Miller, brand manager for Laundry 123™ products for Whirlpool brand. "Whirlpool continues to be on the cutting edge of laundry. Whirlpool Laundry 123™ solutions are the next step in the evolution of the laundry room, helping consumers utilize space that they previously considered unusable and streamlining the entire laundry process."
Each product of the Laundry 123 suite of custom laundry options will come in various colors and styles to match an existing Whirlpool brand laundry product, including the Duet®, Duet Sport™, Cabrio™ and "Classic" series. The "Classic" version has a standard styling to match many brands of washers and dryers. The suite of products is manufactured with metal akin to washer and dryer fabrication and painted from the same color palette, offering seamless integration into an existing laundry room.
Laundry Towers and Pedestals
The Whirlpool™ Laundry 123™ vertical tower holds and hides all laundry supplies within easy reach, giving the laundry room a clutter-free, organized look. It features two oversized drawers to hold larger laundry items such as detergent bottles and a pull-out supply tray to organize everything from dryer sheets to pocket change. A 10-inch steel and chrome retractable hanging rod is featured on certain models, providing consumers a temporary place to hang or air-dry four to six items, such as shirts, hosiery and delicates.
The vertical laundry towers are an addition to the already popular horizontal pedestals. Pedestals give Duet and Duet Sport model owners extra space beneath their washers and dryers and lift the washers and dryers to a more comfortable height for the user. The recommended size pedestal for a Duet or Duet Sport model owner whose height is less than 5'4" is 10 inches. Owners 5'4" and taller should use the 15-1/2 inch pedestal.
Worksurface
The Whirlpool™ Laundry 123™ worksurface allows consumers to convert the tops of their front-loading washers and dryers into a convenient surface to sort, treat and fold. The surface includes a chemical-and scratch-resistant rubber mat, a supply tray to stash spare change and hold items such as bleach pens, and a backguard to protect socks from the mysterious abyss of the laundry room.
The laundry worksurface is designed to help consumers find peace with their laundry by providing a space to streamline the laundry routine and keep the clutter out of the rest of the home.
Slide-out Worksurface
The Whirlpool™ Laundry 123™ slide-out worksurface will give additional space for owners of stacked washers and dryers, such as the Duet or Duet Sport, to sort, treat, hang, and fold clothes. This product will be available in the summer of 2007.
Laundry 123 solutions are currently available to match white laundry appliances and will soon be available in a range of other colors. The Laundry 123 vertical laundry towers will be available with an MSRP ranging from $199 to $329, depending upon color and style. The standard laundry worksurface will be available with an MSRP ranging from $199 to $229. Additional information is available at www.whirlpool.com.
