Under the Notice and Access model, Whirlpool Corporation is able to share proxy materials with stockholders by posting them on an Internet Web site and providing stockholders with notice of the availability of the proxy materials.

Stockholders who have received printed proxy materials in the past will be mailed a "Notice Regarding the Availability of Proxy Materials." This notice provides the Internet Web site address where the proxy materials can be viewed and shares can be voted. It will also include instructions for requesting a paper copy of the proxy materials via telephone, Internet Web site or e-mail. Stockholders who would prefer to receive a paper copy of the proxy materials can do so at no charge and can make this election for the current annual meeting or for all future annual meetings.

Sustainability Benefits and Cost Savings

By adopting the SEC's Notice and Access model for delivery of proxy materials, Whirlpool Corporation reduced printed copies of the annual report and proxy materials by approximately 65 percent, saving more than 15 million printed pages plus the energy and expense to produce. This year's online annual report will provide new functionality and content that outlines Whirlpool Corporation's value creation story through the eyes of Whirlpool employees worldwide.
