SUWANEE, Ga., Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Embraco North America, Inc. and the U.S. Department of Justice today entered into a plea agreement regarding the government's antitrust investigation of the compressor industry.
Pursuant to the agreement, Embraco North America acknowledged a violation of U.S. antitrust law, in breach of company policy, with respect to the sale of certain compressors, and agreed to a fine of $91.8 million. The plea agreement is subject to court approval.
Embraco and its parent and affiliate companies are committed to fair and open competition, and violations of company policy or local laws are not acceptable. The Department of Justice has acknowledged Embraco's substantial assistance in its investigation. Embraco continues to cooperate with ongoing government investigations in other jurisdictions.
