The unique coated metal Flex Edge Beater, sold separately as an optional accessory, uses a flexible edge on one side to gently and automatically scrape the sides of the stand mixer bowl while mixing. This eliminates the step, recommended in many recipes, of intermittently stopping the mixer to manually scrape the sides of the bowl during the mixing process

A larger Flex Edge Beater option for use on 5.5 and 6-quart bowl lift models KL26M8X and KP26M1X is scheduled for availability in May, and will be priced at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $49.99.
