BENTON HARBOR, Mich., April 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- David Szczupak, executive vice president of the global product organization for Whirlpool Corporation (NYSE: WHR), will be speaking at the fourth Energy Efficiency Global Forum (EE Global) in Brussels, Belgium on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. CEST. His presentation will be a part of the opening plenary session and is titled, "Appliances...the Friendly Face of the Smart Grid."

In addition, Mr. Szczupak will discuss ways to make the national power grid more efficient and less vulnerable. He will highlight the company's smart appliance tech demonstrations and will highlight the need for global cooperation between industry, government and legislation to create significant energy and costs savings for consumers and manufacturers, as well as a reduced impact on the environment.
