INDIANAPOLIS, July 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- As many active families know, their favorite sports can require a lot of equipment – from balls and bats, to bikes and helmets. But most families struggle with organizing their sporting gear when they're not in action or juggling between activities. To help greater Indianapolis sports families achieve peak performance on and off the field, garage organization leader Gladiator® GarageWorks is launching a sports-themed Garage Takeover contest worth more than $15,000. The takeover includes a full garage makeover and a block party to celebrate the winner's ultimate sports zone.

From July 24 through Sept. 16, 2011, active sports families in the greater Indianapolis area who need a Garage Takeover may enter their story, along with a photo or video, at www.indytakeover.com.
By Sept. 23, 2011, 10 semi-finalists will be asked to provide additional information about their sporting goods organization chaos for the grand prize – consultation with home improvement expert Karl Champley and a professional organizer; $10,000 worth of Gladiator® GarageWorks products; design and installation from a professional garage dealer; and a block party for friends and neighbors to reveal the Takeover's results. The nine semi-finalists will receive an Organization Mega Kit (MSRP $327).
"Active families need garages to work overtime as a place to store their sports equipment as they shuffle from one activity to the next. Take it from me, an Australian who embraces the outdoors," said Karl Champley, home improvement expert and Gladiator brand spokesperson. "Gladiator® GarageWorks can help athletes of all ages with unique storage needs of items like bikes, golf bags, fishing poles, kayaks, tents and water coolers. With a variety of hooks, baskets, cabinets and shelves, the Gladiator brand system takes advantage of the vertical space to get things off the floor for easy access."
By creating zones with the Gladiator brand's versatile organization system, indoor and outdoor sports equipment can cohabitate with cars and tools in the garage – and it helps to free up areas like the basement and mudroom. Woodworking, crafting, gardening or recycling are some other activities that benefit from a designated zone within the home.
Gladiator brand's Takeover contest is part of a yearlong campaign to help Indianapolis area residents realize the potential and value of an organized garage – from getting the car back in the garage to setting up the ultimate sports zone.
