BENTON HARBOR, Mich., April 16, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Whirlpool Corporation (NYSE: WHR) announced the results of its annual stockholders' meeting, including the election of directors for the next year.
Whirlpool stockholders elected 13 individuals to the board of directors, each for a one-year term expiring in 2020: Samuel R. Allen, chairman and chief executive officer of Deere & Company; Marc R. Bitzer, chairman and chief executive officer of Whirlpool Corporation; Greg Creed, chief executive officer of Yum! Brands, Inc.; Gary T. DiCamillo, president and chief executive officer of Universal Trailer Corporation; Diane M. Dietz, president and chief executive officer of Rodan & Fields, LLC; Gerri T. Elliott, executive vice president and chief sales and marketing officer of Cisco Systems, Inc.; Michael F. Johnston, former chairman and chief executive officer of Visteon Corporation; John D. Liu, chief executive officer of Essex Equity Management and managing partner at Richmond Hill Investments; James M. Loree, president and chief executive officer of Stanley Black & Decker, Inc.; Harish Manwani, senior operating partner at Blackstone Group; William D. Perez, former president and chief executive officer of Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company; Larry O. Spencer, former president of the Air Force Association and retired four-star general; and Michael D. White, former chairman, president and chief executive officer of DIRECTV.
Stockholders also voted to approve, on an advisory basis, Whirlpool Corporation's 2018 executive compensation, and voted to approve the ratification of the appointment of Ernst & Young LLP as Whirlpool Corporation's independent registered public accounting firm for 2019. These vote results are preliminary; final results will be reported on a current report on Form 8-K, which will be filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission within four business days.
